Aiming to Improve the Water Environment through the Introduction of Disposer-Compatible Johkasou Systems in the Suburbs of Hanoi, Vietnam

NIKKO COMPANY is pleased to announce that its proposed project, “Project for Improvement of Water Environment through the Introduction of Disposer-Compatible Johkasou Systems in the Suburbs of Hanoi, Vietnam,” has been selected for the Ministry of the Environment’s FY2026 Model Project for Improvement of Water Environment in Asia.

1. Background and Objectives

Vietnam is currently facing growing challenges in domestic wastewater treatment and waste management as a result of rapid urbanization. In particular, areas where sewerage infrastructure has not yet been fully developed require effective solutions for treating domestic wastewater and managing increasing volumes of food waste.

Under this project, NIKKO will conduct surveys and feasibility studies for the introduction of food waste disposers and disposer-compatible Johkasou systems at apartment complexes in newly developed suburban areas of Hanoi.

Through this initiative, NIKKO aims to:

Improve the water environment through the proper treatment of domestic wastewater;
Reduce environmental impacts by decreasing the volume of food waste generated and the amount subsequently disposed of in landfills; and
Promote local resource circulation.

Leveraging its expertise in Johkasou technology and water treatment, NIKKO is committed to addressing water environment challenges and promoting resource circulation in Vietnam, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
